Each year the AICM and D&B seek to identify and honour the accomplishments of Young Credit Professionals around the country and to recognise their exemplary contributions to the industry as a whole.

The award has been sponsored by Dun & Bradstreet since its inception and is held in high regard within the industry.
The award is open to all permanent residents of Australia (including non-members of the AICM) who are under 30 years of age as at 30 June each year.
The National Young Credit Professional of the Year award winner will receive:
- Education scholarship from AICM (valued at $2,000)
- Cash prize of $1,000
- National recognition and increased professional profile
- Publicity in AICM's 'Credit Management in Australia' magazine
- One year's complimentary membership to AICM
- A meeting with the national finalists and the AIM National Board of Directors

Who is eligible?
All permanent residents of Australia who are under 30 years of age as at 30 June 2008 and employed in the credit industry. Applications are open to both members and non-members of the Australian Institute of Credit Management. Previous National winners are not eligible to enter.
How does it work?
Judges evaluate candidates' strengths and competencies based on pre-set criteria. If selected as a state finalist candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview with the judging panel. Points will be awarded to candidates for work achievements, education, self- improvement, submitted narrative and their interview with the judging panel.
Judging panels
State Award Panels are comprised of three senior credit professionals who will officiate, along with one representative from both the Australian Institute of Credit Management and D&B. The National Award Panel is comprised of at least three senior credit professionals, including a representative of the AICM's National Board, who will preside over proceedings and a representative from D&B.
Prizes
State finalists receive a certificate of recognition, while state winners receive a trophy recognising their achievement. Presentations will be made at dinner award ceremonies held in each state.
State Winners who are members of the AICM will be invited to join the State Council as a supernumerary member for a 12-month period.
National Finalists (State Winners) will be flown to Melbourne to participate in the National Finalists Interviews.
They will also receive complimentary registration to the 2008 AICM National Conference to be held in Melbourne between 15-17 October 2008 and four night's accommodation at the venue.
National finalists will be invited to meet the Board of AICM during the 2008 National Conference to discuss ways of promoting the credit industry and the Institute.
National Young Credit Professional Winner
The winner will receive an AICM education Scholarship to the value of $2,000 and a cash prize of $1,000 and a national winner's plaque. The winner will be announced on the opening day of the AICM National Conference in Melbourne and asked to address the conference delegates at the Dinner on Friday 17 October 2008.

Candidates Application Form should be accompanied with:
- A full resume of work experience and duties performed
- Copies of qualifications or statements of attainment
- 500 word (approx.) statement of opinion on the role of credit within the business structure
- A clear head and shoulder colour photograph suitable for publication
- A letter from your employer endorsing the candidates' application for the YCPA
