Every day, we capture new information from hundreds of thousands of sources around the world, and we update our business information files nearly a million times a day. To manage this vast information flow, D&B have developed matching software that enables us to link the right information to the right business.

D&B can identify a business by its corporate name, the trade name it uses in the marketplace, a street address, or by using our unique numbering system, the DUNS Number. We assign a nine-digit D&B DUNS Number to each business entity in our database with unique, separate and distinct operations. Where appropriate we also use the system to link each entity to its corporate parent or owner.
